California Closets x Jahna Peloquin

Posted March 11, 2020

Located on the second floor of Von Maur Court, shoppers can marvel at the lineup of elegant California Closets, artfully showcasing a curated collection of mall-sourced items. The items are colorful, current – and, most important, attainable.

The rotating collection of fashions, gifts, and décor are personally selected by Jahna Peloquin, Rosedale Center fashion director. Shoppers will see a sleek snakeskin tote, leopard print sandals and luminous, locally made art glass – pragmatically placed amid more practical gear, like a cable-knit stocking cap and affordable key fob. Nothing is over $200.

Curating and displaying the items is a joyful job for Peloquin, who is the center’s first official style guru. She’s been rummaging through closets since she was a teen in search of vintage fashions in her mother’s wardrobe.

A Minneapolis-based style writer and fashion consultant, Peloquin has been style editor for Minnesota Monthly magazine, worked as a contributing style writer for the Star Tribune newspaper, Midwest Home magazine and Vita.mn, and been a beauty copywriter for Target.

The daughter of an artist-turned-art teacher and professional chef, Peloquin grew up drawing and painting, and even designed her own dance costumes. In the process, she developed her own signature style.

“Jahna is a dynamic in-house fashion influencer,” said Sarah Fossen, director of marketing and experience at Rosedale Center. “Her social media followers are loyal, growing and fueling interest in our mall among the next generation of shoppers.”
